The Art of Belonging – Youth Place Making Project

A creative place making project to empower and inspire young people to shape their local community.

This project aims to embed art and culture within the everyday environment – to foster a sense of pride and ownership in your neighbourhood, bring life to previously lifeless public spaces and work out what makes belonging to a place special. We want to chat, make and celebrate the resilience and creativity of young people across Yarra.

Get in touch to learn more about the Co-Design Labs, micro grant applications, creative making sessions, festivals, events and more. Art of Belonging Lab is halfway through but young people and organisations can still join in.

The most recent Lab featured presentations from projection artists and young people who will be co-designing the eligibility criteria for the Microgrants for Creative Placemaking Activities in Yarra. We are also making paper and getting ready for our first Placemaking activity next Friday 31st March at Parklife in Edinburgh Gardens.

Check out the action at https://www.facebook.com/pg/belonginginyarra/events/ and follow us or add any events happening in City of Yarra for people 15-25.
