Residential developer SMA Projects are pleased to announce their upcoming Artist in Residence Program aimed at supporting emerging artists in the City of Yarra.
On the 8th of March, a successful candidate will begin the first rotation of the residency for a two-month period. The artist will be provided with a gallery space to display their works and a studio above to work from, located at 250 Gore Street in the heart of Fitzroy. The opportunity to apply for a residency will remain open until the year is filled.
The gallery design pays homage to its architectural past and boasts original timber floors and a structured ceiling, white walls and floor to ceiling street frontage glass windows overlooking the lane alongside. SMA Projects would like to invite emerging artists to submit an Expression of Interest in taking part in the residency program.
There is no cost for the space and studio, however artists must be emerging, have their own insurance and live, work or have a long term connection to the City of Yarra.
Gallery sales will be referred directly to the artist or their gallery and the artist will be invited to either sit the space, or spend their time in their studio above, and allow the public to wander through.
For further information, and if you would like to be considered please send your CV, examples of your work and a letter of introduction to Amanda Camp.
