Two of Australia’s best Indigenous artists have come together to create a new single Rise, an uplifting anthem produced by Melbourne’s own Joelistics.
The music video for Rise by rapper Birdz, featuring renowned Hip Hop artist Jimblah, has just been released. Shot around Melbourne, it shares the story of three generations and highlights the bond between father and son. This is the lead single from the local musician’s forthcoming Ep: Birdz Eye Visions.
In the past year Birdz has produced a steady release of new material, the majority of which is receiving Triple J airplay and ongoing support from local and interstate community radio stations such as Yarra’s own PBS and 3CR.
2016 is set to be a big year for the Badtjala rapper, releasing the Ep in the first quarter, and his highly anticipated debut album through Bad Apples Music, slated for release in September/October.
This project has been supported by a Small Project Grant from Council.
